Towering cliffs by maggiemae

Towering cliffs

Almost desperate for a photo today - I’ve done just about everything in sight! And out of sight! My computer was so bad today! We decided to update it to Yosemite. It has taken 5 hours so far!

This is our wonderful wood burner with a piece of old man pine just simmering inside the burner. Not cliffs!

Three good things:
1. I did have my Macbook Air that was being good and works well, just not as good with some apps that work on my iMac.
2. I have found out how to grow lilies from the seed but it has taken 3 weeks for the first growth to show. Now put in individual pots and in a cold place for 6 months! I’ll have to remember what they are then!
3. Our phone is very quiet - John changed from copper to fibre and its not working yet.
Clever shot, it really does look like lit up cliffs.

Bep
You were very creative in finding a photo moment today.

Love the light, colour and texture on the glowing wood. Congrats on growing lilies from seed--what colour or colours are they going to be?
July 28th, 2015
@tristansmum I think they are Asian lilies Stephanie - the seeds just were sent as a bonus with a purchase for blue poppy seed.
July 28th, 2015
Very clever concept:)!
July 28th, 2015
Love that warm glow on the 'cliffs'.
July 28th, 2015
I can't load 365 on my iPad tonight so having a quick look on my phone....,looks so cosy!
July 28th, 2015
@paulaw Thats all the cave men with their flaming torches, Paula!
July 28th, 2015
@happypat Thank heaven for little.... phones!
July 28th, 2015
What a eerie but cool shot.
July 28th, 2015
Did you clone out the cavemen? ;)
July 28th, 2015
Great idea and capture. I'm like @happypat having to use mobile. Males everything so slow.
July 28th, 2015
Looks lovely and cosy - having trouble with 365 at the mo but other websites ok
July 28th, 2015
@paulaw No, they are bending down low so all you see of them is their dark heads - and even then thats pretty hard to spot!
July 28th, 2015
@maggiemae must be the weather in Britain - 365 is OK here!
July 28th, 2015
I think it looks like cooling lava,
July 28th, 2015
Looks so warm and cosy! This is the first time I have been able to get onto 365 this evening. I think all the rain has got into the system! Lol!
July 28th, 2015
Neat shot
July 28th, 2015
Perfect proof of how suggestable the mind is! I wondered where in the world there were such beautiful well lit cliffs!
July 28th, 2015
Clever shot interpreted in a very creative way. I kept looking for any sign of a skyline.
July 29th, 2015
Lovely image. That is worrisome about the computer upgrade. Is that length of time within acceptable limits?
July 29th, 2015
@allie912 My computer was running very slow so it took some time to load - OK now after upgrade but still problems as expected. No iPhoto allowed!
July 29th, 2015
@skipt07 I think thats what my mind said when I saw it, Skip but settled for cliffs instead!
July 29th, 2015
Cool, clever shot
July 29th, 2015
@ziggy77 @judithg Can't be our fault then.....just 365 a problem last night! Seems ok this morning!
July 29th, 2015
...my first thought was when did Maggiemae see the Cliffs of Mohr, wow re the sunset and where the heck was she when she snapped them ...then I read your commentary ...oops!
July 29th, 2015
@ceilidh Just did google of your Cliffs, Margaret, and my layers in this piece of burning wood gave a good impression of Mohr!!
July 29th, 2015
@happypat Its always nice to know someone else has the same problem - not so good when your particular computer is dragging its heels! Now its got a huge program going through it - 100s of thousands of files and saying what its found wrong so far. 43 at the moment! But we don't have to pay this thing!
July 29th, 2015
I hope you get it sorted soon - very frustrating.
July 29th, 2015
@leananiemand Thanks Leana - I bet we all go through this!
July 29th, 2015
creative capture. it does look like cliffs.
July 29th, 2015
Great shot and you had me fooled so fav for that :)
July 29th, 2015
@onlyme111 Well, its pretty ordinary, Gayelene so I had to beef it up a bit! Ta for your fav!
July 29th, 2015
I like photography under pressure and with limitation, there are always something coming out with a surprise.
July 29th, 2015
It makes for an interesting photo. Good luck with the lillies
July 29th, 2015
Very cool shot, Maggie. I miss our fire - we weren't allowed to replace ours when the house was rebuilt.
July 29th, 2015
Amazing, they do look like cliffs and mysterious ones at that.
July 29th, 2015
Lovely colours in your capture
July 29th, 2015
Margaret@ceilidh got in first. They are like these cliffs at sunset. As a wood burner it looks warm and comforting
July 29th, 2015
Sounds like you're having a few problems. Ah well at least you have that cosy fire!
July 29th, 2015
Nice and toasty!!! Good shot of it. What is Yellowstone?
July 29th, 2015
A lovely low-key shot.
July 29th, 2015
@eyesmile Yosemite is the latest running system for Apple Macintosh computers, Gena. Before that it was Snow leopard and so on.
July 29th, 2015
this is a scorcher! like our weather! 33 feeling like hell! nice one, maggiemae..
July 30th, 2015
I thought they were really cliff until I read your paragraph and then I could see that it was an ember. Nicely done.
July 30th, 2015
Could gaze at this and see lots of faces and all sorts of strange things!
July 30th, 2015
I like the concept - they do look like illuminated cliffs and actually quite spooky as well!
July 30th, 2015
Very nice shot - makes me feel warm to look at it.
