Girl at work by maggiemae

Girl at work

This was a completely unplanned photo! I was taking a photo of a little bridge in our public Gardens and this little girl rushed past me to climb on to the toy grader that actually works with sand. I just swung my camera round with the same settings.

Three good things:
1. After two whole days, John had finished updating, backing up and deleting files on my computer. It was ready…. I tried it and it was still incredibly slow but an odd advertisement kept coming up in front of me and I noticed the name. We found out how to ‘uninstall’ this on our browser, Safari and also did 3 others which were there - and hey presto - it all came right. These things get into your system
surreptitiously!
2. Because we updated our iMac to Yosemite, the iPhotos were updated too and I couldn’t get the app to work on other apps until I “talked” to a guy online who was so good!
3. John sings all day and I’ve learnt that his father did too!
Very cool shot and processing

If you processed this you processed it to perfection! If this is how it came out of the camera even better! Sometimes the best photos are the ones that aren't planned! I had to give it a FAV!

A singing husband how wonderful..a happy man! Your route to a bug free computer sounds fraught & complicated. My FB froze last night & I couldn't get it to shift....I switched it all off by the button & it came good. Amazing how I missed it for an hour....how sad is that?
An imaginative photo that moves beautifully. Lydia posted her mum a photo of a silver fern tattoo on her foot today ....turns out it was a transfer!!

@grammyn I have tried in the past to process a photo to be like this and have never succeeded. This is out of the camera! Thank you Katy!

@happypat I like to browse through various apps during the day - on fb there are some interesting videos. I watched a 40 min video on Anacondas the other day!. Glad that tattoo was a transfer - I saw a ghastly photo of a girl who had had one removed - a real mess!

I had to look twice before I made out her face. you managed to get a nice picture by swinging your camera.

It makes a cool abstract!

An interesting shot -- it took me some time to identify the object -- mind you ,not at my best as it is past my bedtime !!

@beryl Its not that clear, Beryl - half of it has disappeared into the ether!

Very cool shot. It took a while before I could make out the face, and it looked like a colorful abstract. FAV

@ckwiseman I liked that wee side view of her enthusiastic face too! Thanks for your comment, Carolyn.

Fantastic -- it's an abstract with the little girl hidden in the scene but a major part of it.

Great shot, processing...kept me guessing for a second

@taffy A nice way of putting it Taffy! Her mother hadn't arrived so I didn't have to worry about taking her photograph!

@beachdog A bit sigh of relief Barb! Didn't have to go to to a shop to get it done.

It took me a second to figure it out too and I love it. What I thought was a colorful abstract is a really cute, colorful photo of a little girl. Love the high key feel. It is really cool to get a shot like this where you did not plan it at all. FAV.

WOW...this is almost an optical illusion,. Love it!!

Interesting abstract capture you have got there.

I just love this, it's an instant fav. My dad sang a lot about the house too, and so do I.

@tristansmum Thats so interesting, Stephanie - I dont' sing but I whistle - did one of my parents whistle!
August 2nd, 2015
Thought you processed it this way on purpose. I love it!
August 2nd, 2015
It's a great look, looks a bit like a high key type shot, but muted. A singing man must be a happy man! Hope he is in tune.
August 2nd, 2015
Oh, so clever. Fabulous processing.

Lucky you, as this is a wonderful photo.

Singing all day is good (if you can sing!). Leigh likes to whistle and she's quite good at it and very versatile. She'll be whistling a piano tune from her lessons one minute and then a Christmas carol the next! Well, none of that has anything to do with the picture, but it was fun typing it. As for the picture, I like the high-key accident! At first it looked like a bunch of splotches on a white piece of paper. It was a very cool optical illusion when the actual subject appeared!

So unusual. Love it. Fav. I have resisters Yosemite so far because I know it will create a lot of frustration!
August 4th, 2015
Great effect. Love how she suddenly appears from the background as you view - like an optical illusion.
