Cloud over the Kakanui’s. Coming back home, I got the high mountain tops (5394 ft) of this high range of mountains. It looks quite near here but we knew it was 60km away.
Three good things:
1. A very social walk meeting 3 lots of great people. The last one was an old guy who lives here: http://365project.org/maggiemae/365/2015-03-23 He’s a real character nearly 90, has 9 cats that he loves, owned 26 classic cars and loves to talk! He lost his wife 10 years ago and doesn’t want to do anything now without her. I’ve got to meet him again.
2. We found some purchases on our Mastercard that weren’t ours! Heavens to Betsy! Over $1000Nz. I think the card was copied at one stage. Got to be so careful - they say - don’t let the card out of your sight! On the trail of the company that was the culprit but I think they are well prepared. Its a English company but the purchases were all in US$. Have had to cancel our card! Good thing- I still have mine!
3. Lovely fresh peppers that go crunch when you cut through them!
Loving the layers of light and shade and warm and cool. Each time I read your 3 good things I am tempted to restart the practice myself but then there are the days when nothing goes right and all I have to offer is some half arsed homily.
Wonderful awe inspiring view maggiemae.......you live in a wonderful place. It's good you live by the sea but still have mountains to look at. Lousy cheating folk who scam someone else's cards for ill gotten gain. A worry all the same even if you get compensated & a hassle to have to cancel cards.
@happypat John says he will look closely at all purchases when he gets the statements now. i thought it was something he'd bought then when he said it was not, I investigated the card way back - it started in July last year!
@maggiemae We are very lax too with our cards.....try not to use it much anyway & then just glance at it & stick it in the bill drawer. We should scrutinise every purchase!
Wonderful views. I love the varying colours in the shallow, sky as well as the mountain view. Sorry about your card. After my sister Anne was scammed I never let my card out of my sight even asking if I could go round the counter to see them using one machine
Love the comp and the clouds and the greens and blues, fav for me. Bad news about your card--hope it will be worked out without your having to pay anything you shouldn't.
Wonderful capture. The mountains are so pretty peeking out through the clouds! So sorry about the fraudulent charges on your card. Good reminder to the rest of us to be ever vigilant.
Beautiful landscape with amazing shades of blue. Fav My card was copied and when the lady in the bank was checking the purchases she was asking in front of a queue of people if i had spent money on various things and had I been using an escort agency!!! This is a small market down and several people in the queue knew who I was. That was the end of my reputation locally!!
I always checked mine (when I had one) and did catch some that way but for the most part we haven't had a problem. I think it's going to get worse as the world economy plummets. However, the photo on the other hand is simply gorgeous! fav
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann for your good comments as usual! I think the big problem is there are more nasty types about that just look for opportunities to defraud.
This is absolutely gorgeous!! FAV! One can never be too careful these days with these electronic transactions! Glad you found out about it early enough, and hopefully you will not be responsible for any of it!
