I’m enjoying a slightly more relaxed look at 365 photos - sometimes its more than a day before I see these really good photos but I have more time to see what people have created and are hopefully proud of.
This is a rural scene on the boundary of Oamaru - for some reason, nobody has tried to claim this land for subdivision. Cold - the maximum was 6 deg and the smoke was giving an impression of the anticipation of warmth.
Three good things;
1. Decided not get my hair cut - looked at hair styles on the net (not under a net) but thought my longer hair provided some warmth for this cold season.
2. Got a good book to read - within one week as its a rental library book. 550 pages mean 80 pages a day!
3. A friend in Australia asked me for the recipe for good cheese rolls - I reminded her that we put onion dip into grated cheese and let it stand.
Very smart fencing surrounding this farm......I love the smoke rising in the cold Ir. we have just skyped NZ because it's Max's birthday today.....the weather was glorious in North Island with sun streaming through the windows. It was interesting as it's the first time we have seen the new house in the daylight.....so light with massive windows. You haven't long to read your library book...it's three weeks in the UK I think.
@happypat Its only a small property here but they are able to keep sheep. House sounds modern and great to live in. My book is a premium one so only get 1 week and have to pay $2 as well - she said, furiously reading!
@kwiksilver Its by Barbara Erskine and called "The Darkest Hour' - set in the 2nd world war in Sussex and in the modern day. A nice light read and easy to get absorbed in it!
Certainly does look cold, but wonderful homey feel to it. It was an instant fav for me.
1. No haircut definitely a good decision until the warmer weather sets in.
2. Gotta love a good book!
3. Now that sounds delicious! What kind of cheese and what quantity of each?
@janiskay If its hard cheese, Janice it is grated anything. I mix it with cream or onion dip and add spring onions, or mustard or chillies or whatever goes! It should be like a thick sauce. Pile on to flat thin bread slices, roll up, toast and serve with lashings of butter!
What a wonderful scene so beautifully composed and processed! I love the fact that you left the top railing of the fence at the bottom to serve as a separation between us and the scene!! FAV!
This is a lovely scene, great composition. Like the clear front focus fading into the background. Have you read any of Barbara Erskine 's earlier books.
I love the way the house nestles into the hillside and this plus the smoke do giveafeeling of being tucked in for the winter. Onion dip in cheese for rolls, must try that
What's the good book you found? Please share!
