I’m getting a hankering for an artistic or imaginative photo that has meaning rather than just photographing something that is trying to be beautiful.
I took this in our local Public Gardens looking up to the red Chinese Bridge that is so iconic here.
I didn’t have my feet in water - they were on stepping stones and I hadn’t had my usual 6 glasses of wine for lunch so I didn’t fall in! lol.
Three good things;
1. Wonderful sleep on our latex mattress - not found in other places.
2. An envelope from my half sister’s estate arrived with letters written to my father on the death of his first wife! I think I’m getting to know her!
3. Hearing the sound of the Spitfires remembering the Battle of Britain brings back memories of all those newscasts and movies!
I was looking for Yolanda & Mr Man in this shot. Beautiful red bridge, the reflection is awesome. Much trouble tonight with my iPad.. I mistakenly deleted my 365 account so every time I want to go on I have to log in.....must get Jack to put it right !
@happypat Thats a curse - don't know how to get round that - it was like that on FB for ages until I unticked the box that said, 'remember me'. I mistakenly (of course) deleted a whole travel diary on my desktop! Fortunately I still have photos.
@grammyn Its the curved bridge aspect of a the photo. Yours looks like a beautiful Japanese garden whereas mine has the red that the Chinese love to use!
@taffy Now its you making me laugh! I would just gather my senses together and my dripping trousers, shake the camera and aim in the gennnerrl direcshon of the bbbrididge!
Wonderful image!! Love all that dark foliage leading to that enchanting red bridge and its wonderful reflection in the water!! Well done, Maggiemae!! Absolute FAV!!
What a lovely image. It looks like a watercolor painting. It's quite pretty. Great reflections. I haven't taken photos of a box of goodies that came with my friend from England! One of the items in one of 3 boxes was a model of a Spitfire! I would love to see them fly through the air with my own eyes. . . . someday. I'm glad you didn't fall into the water, although you would have dried so it wouldn't have been bad - unless you got hurt. Then that would be a whole other thing.
@maggiemae lol, Maggie... My mind travels about a million miles a second and there is always something going on in there and more often than not more than one thing at a time! It's hard sometimes because I want to say so much but then it becomes a mishmash of stuff. But sometimes it's better to get it out instead of keeping it in! I need to get a stand for my Spitfire and try and do another photo like the one I did of P-47 that makes it look like it's flying in the air! That was my first major edit and I had so much fun doing it!
@maggiemae lol . . . ummmm.. Yup. I am a good typist. I type over 100 words per minute. Back in 2001 I went from typing 85 wpm to 10 wpm due to a motor vehicle accident that caused neurological damage and for two and a half months I had a constant headache that wouldn't go away no matter what I took and then my typing started to get back up to speed to 85 wpm and then I started doing dictation on the side for a doctor and got my typing up to over 100 wpm (I was tested at a temp agency once a few years after I started doing the dictation at home - it was in trade for services he performed so I didn't have to pay him after the insurance maxed out the coverage for the vehicle injury). Okay ... that was a bit much. See? I got all sorts of stuff in my brain. You never know what's going to come out! I hope you like the photo I got today! I was so surprised by that!!!
