Its a treat for me to see comments on my postings that are or aren’t relating to the photo.
Today I attempted a shot from the window into the developing rhododendron. This is what my camera decided. I just can’t focus on what I want to focus on but I’m not buying a better camera.
So I decided to go with it! Used a texture from picmonkey on this blurry shot - red flower, green leaves, light and a frame.
Three good things:
1. Planted a new kowhai called "Dragons Gold" that flowers in winter and brings in the tuis - that I photographed recently!
2. Into another book - from the Battle of Britain to the Monarch Butterflies migration from Chicago to Mexico! My mind is reeling!
3. Remembered the phrase “cut the mustard” and John googled - if you could, you were up to it, if you couldn’t……!
@happypat They just happen, Pat and sometimes I want to be rebellious and not post beautiful stuff all the time! Can't do the incredible stuff but thats a challenge!
@sdutoit Of course there are negative things around all the time, Sylvia and its difficult in your situation to separate them. It has to be totally personal, these nice things!
I like how you processed this Maggiemae. You've made it into a great piece of modern art. I cannot claim to know or understand modern art but but son would happily hang this on his wall!
We went food shopping today, well, Jeff had to take me because the car is dead and we have to eat. He is very distracting in the store but he thinks he's helping! I don't want to hurt his feelings though so I say, "Oh, we need milk, go get that" and then I have minute or two to think. So, I was getting some meat and so were two other ladies. It looked like we were doing a square dance and we all started laughing. It seemed like I saw them every other aisle after that. And then they showed up in the check out line! One said, "You're going to think we're stalking you!"
Please note I said nothing about the picture and I hope you enjoyed that random commentary on my day. (o:
Great abstract, Maggie. I remember the phrase "cut the mustard"!! Does that mean I'm old? I don't think that's used anymore! I think that @olivetreeann was really stalking the ladies in the grocery store to see what was in their cart for photo ideas.
It can make for an intriguing shot that everyone sees different when this happens. I am puzzled that your camera wouldn't focus on what you wanted. Do you have a single spot focus that would help.
@jennywren It was on zoom from the window and I had it too close to the flower. It would have focused if I reduced the zoom but I do want to practice getting it right.
my interpretation is 1970's pop art
