Rhododendron by maggiemae

Rhododendron

As
blossoms
on the breeze-
rhododendron
scents
life
alive
in the trees,
ripple shaded
green,
wool clouds drift
on blue sky-
summer arrives
soon.

Three good things;
1. Tickets arrived for a Train Trip to come - not “Six Days on the Road” but Six days on the Rails” -that’s on the rails not ‘off the rails’!
2. Our bright pink rhododendrons are attracting bees…. The Bee or the Full Moon is my predicament for the next photo.
T3. he exercise, “planking’ of which (notice the correct grammar) I partake, talks of exercising the 'the rectus adbominis “! Which is why whenever I do this, small unwanted puffs of air make a predominant sound and John says, ‘Are you planking again’?
Pretty pink processing. Love the words too. Your 3rd good thing is so funny and I am impressed you do the planking at all. How exciting a train trip! Enjoy.

@kiwinanna Thanks Liana! I like this activity as it only takes 30 secs and increases your core strength so well. The one you need when you get out of a chair without grunting!

#3 hilarious...you are a person to be avoided whilst planking obviously! This rhododendron looks like it's been pressed into a cube Love the painty effect!
August 29th, 2015
@happypat Shot from the window and finally got it focused, Pat. I can't seem to do a macro on zoom.
August 29th, 2015

@beryl There's another word for that, Beryl but I'm not going to say that here!
August 29th, 2015
@maggiemae No , it was not the first word that came to my mind !! lol but was polite and didn't want to offend anyone !!
August 29th, 2015
Lovely Rhododendron, I don't grow them myself, but I do like the flowers...Fav.
August 29th, 2015
@tonygig We have dozens in our small property and they all come out at different times, Tony! A real pleasure!
August 29th, 2015
Lovely!
August 29th, 2015
I wish I had a bigger property to grow these beautiful flowers. my little garden fits on a postage stamp so to speak.
August 30th, 2015

August 30th, 2015
In this part of the world the polite word for planking is flooffing!!
August 30th, 2015
@365projectlinda You're kidding, right? No matter - I love that word - its my new word!
August 30th, 2015
@maggiemae Not sure about widespread general use but certainly in this family

August 30th, 2015
wonderful ....fav
August 30th, 2015
@taffy Its just starting Taffy - coming up to late winter here! And still cold. These flowers came from China (well, not actually mine) and like high altitudes and cool.
August 30th, 2015
Very pretty processing! i like this!
August 30th, 2015
They are such pretty and delicate flowers. I have thought about growing them but they are far too thirsty for my garden. Not a good plant to have around during times of water restrictions!
August 30th, 2015
Looks like a painting. Well done.
August 30th, 2015
@sdutoit Thanks Sylvia - I can't claim originality for this - its an app that does it!
August 30th, 2015
It has been non-stop rain here for days so this photo and accompanying poem are warming and welcome. I love your daily 3 points, so positive and funny especially today's.
August 30th, 2015
Beautiful flower and I really like your clever processing Maggiemae. As for number 3 that will keep me chuckling for a long time! FAv

August 30th, 2015
Very pretty capture of these beautiful flowers.
August 30th, 2015
Beautiful bright pink.
August 30th, 2015
Very artsy rendition here- both in word and image. I don't think you could pay me to do planking- but I have been stacking wood this week- also with no pay other than I will be warm this winter.
August 30th, 2015
Such a pretty pink and detail of the stamens. My. Mum in law always said she popped, re no. 3!
August 30th, 2015

August 30th, 2015
@olivetreeann Money in the bank Ann - thats what I call a wood shed fill of wood. We decided not to stack this time - just threw it in!
August 30th, 2015
Lovely shot.
August 30th, 2015
Gorgeous processing and comp. I like the poem too, but have never thought that rhododendrons had a scent. Fav.
August 31st, 2015
A beautiful image! i like your choice of processing for it!

i have been taking an exercise class and every time we plank, which thankfully isn't very often, I think of you!
August 31st, 2015
@tristansmum Only some rhodos have scent, Stephanie.
August 31st, 2015
@grammyn I would not like to be told to plank, Katy - thats why I don't go to these sort of classes! I do it when I can remember - which isn't often!

@maggiemae I do wish I could just leave it in one big heap in the back yard, but it would stay wet and then it would be very hard to burn. So I remember the saying Dixie @pandorasecho quoted a few years ago when I first posted our wood pile: Wood heats you three times- first when you cut it down. Second when you stack it, and third when you burn it.
August 31st, 2015
@olivetreeann We have a small and open sided wood shed, Ann - threw it all into that! That's right about the energy!
August 31st, 2015
Beautiful image and processing! Your 3rd good thing cracked me up.
August 31st, 2015
