Book club was at a coastal hideaway where our English friends have created a garden to be shown - to us in this instance. Groups of daffodils planted around a curving pathway designed and created by our hostess - on the lawn mower - successfully achieved with a whole bottle of wine!
Three good things:
1. Egg sandwiches made from the eggs of the luscious big hens scratching around in the rose garden. But no wine!
2. Watching Floppity Bunny and her family frolicking around the pond. One wonders how they will resolve the problem of the rabbits all coming in and eating the food put out for Jemima Puddleduck and her sisters. But no wine!
3. Discussion on how to resolve the European refugee problem never came to a head! But still no wine!
I think you had a drop of wine since...slightly squew wiff maggiemae! I should leave that book club & choose one with less gardening & more drinking! Sounds exactly like an English garden to me with daffs & hens!
I would forgive a lot for an egg sandwich though....my fave!
@happypat I left it skew wiff Pat - thought it had ambience. Scenes from my camera while lying in the grass! The garden has white ducks and a pond of course!
Dear girl I hope by now you have received some wine! The low POV and angle of this shot suggests that maybe you had a bit too much at some point! It is a beautiful shot though!
@grammyn Really truly, Katy - I had to lie down on the grass to get underneath this daffodil and the others were walking towards me! I can't help it if they decided to go on an angle!
I saw a gardening program once where all the daffodils were planted by tossing handfuls of them across the lawn. Wherever they fell, they dug a hole and planted the bulb. It looked wonderful when they all bloomed! Love the "worm's eye view" here- but I'm certain it took a little wine to get it! Or to get up from it.
Now that was a lot of whining. We don't have wine either, mores the pity, but we drink tea from old fashioned porcelain tea-cups with our little fingers extended and politely discuss the book for 10 minutes before lapsing into the days gossip.
3 comments 1: I need to join a book club 2: I like the idea of 10 minutes to discuss the book before drinking the wine. 3: I love your pov with or without the wine - who cares. This is a fun shot. Fav
I would gladly change seasons with you. Oh Spring with all it's new beginnings. autumn has taken over...it's getting very cool and so windy that I've not left the house today. I always take an hour or so to walk around the neigbourhood...not today though. it was barely 30 degrees this morning. the daffodil is my favorite spring flower. fav.
How could you possibly resolve the refugee crisis without any wine?!!! Totally unacceptable.....That daffodil is staring you right in the face wondering what the heck you are doing down there on the grass!!
@panthora I know! Impossible - loosens the tongue etc! Someone was going to take a picture of me lying in the grass with this daffodil but didn't have here camera with her thank goodness!
I would forgive a lot for an egg sandwich though....my fave!
