Spring is here by maggiemae

Spring is here

Book club was at a coastal hideaway where our English friends have created a garden to be shown - to us in this instance. Groups of daffodils planted around a curving pathway designed and created by our hostess - on the lawn mower - successfully achieved with a whole bottle of wine!

Three good things:
1. Egg sandwiches made from the eggs of the luscious big hens scratching around in the rose garden. But no wine!
2. Watching Floppity Bunny and her family frolicking around the pond. One wonders how they will resolve the problem of the rabbits all coming in and eating the food put out for Jemima Puddleduck and her sisters. But no wine!
3. Discussion on how to resolve the European refugee problem never came to a head! But still no wine!
Lovely POV. Great capture

Fabulous pov. Could the wine have been of assistance here?
October 1st, 2015
@salza You mean my angle might be horizontal with some wine instead of an angle, Sally?
October 1st, 2015
@maggiemae exactly! Plus there seemed to be a distinct lack of wine as mentioned in your narrative.

Maybe wine next time! Great to see daffodils again - so bright and gay dancing in the sunlight.

@flowerfairyann Unfortunately we don't have wine at our book club meetings, Ann - all of us are driving and the law is so strict here!

Fun shot, Maggiemae. My book club was visiting a wooden shoes museum (did you see my picture?); no wine, just tea and coffee...;-)

Fun shot Maggiemae !!So bright and somewhat wonky !!!
October 1st, 2015
Nice POV!
October 1st, 2015
your daff is talking to me maggie :)
October 1st, 2015
I think you had a drop of wine since...slightly squew wiff maggiemae! I should leave that book club & choose one with less gardening & more drinking! Sounds exactly like an English garden to me with daffs & hens!
I would forgive a lot for an egg sandwich though....my fave!

I have one suggestion for you BYOB. ;-)
October 1st, 2015
@happypat I left it skew wiff Pat - thought it had ambience. Scenes from my camera while lying in the grass! The garden has white ducks and a pond of course!
October 1st, 2015
@janiskay I can just imagine me swigging out of a bottle while the others stare at me in horror, Janis!
October 1st, 2015
@phil_howcroft Its called daffodil staring, Phil!
October 1st, 2015
Such a lovely sight to see in spring.
October 1st, 2015
Ah...nice contrast to what we are seeing here with the start of fall season.
October 2nd, 2015
Beautiful :)
October 2nd, 2015
Dear girl I hope by now you have received some wine! The low POV and angle of this shot suggests that maybe you had a bit too much at some point! It is a beautiful shot though!
October 2nd, 2015
@grammyn Really truly, Katy - I had to lie down on the grass to get underneath this daffodil and the others were walking towards me! I can't help it if they decided to go on an angle!
October 2nd, 2015
@maggiemae LOL! Is that the story you are sticking to? You are certain you ended up in the grass on purpose?!
October 2nd, 2015
@grammyn Dear Katy - -- nobody will ever know!

I saw a gardening program once where all the daffodils were planted by tossing handfuls of them across the lawn. Wherever they fell, they dug a hole and planted the bulb. It looked wonderful when they all bloomed! Love the "worm's eye view" here- but I'm certain it took a little wine to get it! Or to get up from it.
October 2nd, 2015
@olivetreeann Perhaps I should post an upright daffodil one just to prove I can stand on my own two feet!
October 2nd, 2015
Well I'm sure you are eager to enjoy its warmth

It indeed looks like a speaker broadcasting the good news.
October 2nd, 2015
@yaorenliu "HERE IS THE NEWS"! Stray people wandering around daffodil clumps were doomed to go downwards!
October 2nd, 2015
The wonky angle does make one wonder about the absence of wine! Thanks for the smile.
October 2nd, 2015
Great shot and I am loving all the comments!
October 2nd, 2015
Now that was a lot of whining. We don't have wine either, mores the pity, but we drink tea from old fashioned porcelain tea-cups with our little fingers extended and politely discuss the book for 10 minutes before lapsing into the days gossip.
October 2nd, 2015
@snaphappi Exactly - the best china and the cake stand! Real tea or freshly brewed coffee. It just a great excuse and I'll never knock it!
October 2nd, 2015
It sure is looking at this pic. Lovely.
October 2nd, 2015
Fabulous shot. Great lighting.
October 2nd, 2015
Love this POV
October 2nd, 2015
3 comments 1: I need to join a book club 2: I like the idea of 10 minutes to discuss the book before drinking the wine. 3: I love your pov with or without the wine - who cares. This is a fun shot. Fav
October 2nd, 2015
PS: 4th comment. How do you find time to read the book anyway? Unless it's a photography book. Lol
October 2nd, 2015
Ha! Thats how I see the world sometimes too! Great pov.
October 2nd, 2015
Very pretty capture, we are just breaking into Autumn.
October 2nd, 2015
Maggie, I love your pov and the tilt. It makes this photo special. As to the wine ... well .... that is another question altogether.
fav
October 2nd, 2015
You're too funny. As to the daffodil, it's so bright and cheery in contrast to our cold rainy day.
October 2nd, 2015
I would gladly change seasons with you. Oh Spring with all it's new beginnings. autumn has taken over...it's getting very cool and so windy that I've not left the house today. I always take an hour or so to walk around the neigbourhood...not today though. it was barely 30 degrees this morning. the daffodil is my favorite spring flower. fav.
October 2nd, 2015
@bruni Thank you for your fav Bruni! I don't mind autumn but do mind the wind. It can still be cold here when there is a wind!
October 2nd, 2015
Beautiful daffodil, pov, and angle, fav.
October 3rd, 2015
I like your pov and love daffs having been brought up in Wales!
October 3rd, 2015
Seems bizarre to be seeing daffodils when it's autumn outside here :-)
October 4th, 2015
I like the angle of this photo!
October 4th, 2015
How could you possibly resolve the refugee crisis without any wine?!!! Totally unacceptable.....That daffodil is staring you right in the face wondering what the heck you are doing down there on the grass!!
October 6th, 2015
@panthora I know! Impossible - loosens the tongue etc! Someone was going to take a picture of me lying in the grass with this daffodil but didn't have here camera with her thank goodness!
October 6th, 2015
no wine? for shame! for shame!
October 23rd, 2015
@summerfield I do tell them about our wonderful escapades on 365 but they purse their lips and say, not me - driving!
