The look by maggiemae

The look

Back home after 6 weeks but travelling in our home land means more than when we travelled overseas! The land is all familiar but the people change and are so different!

Three good things:
1.Turned the hot water back on which means showers in the morning -or within 15 minutes actually!
2. The night in Christchurch was full of screaming sirens and helicopters overhead etc - so none tonight, thank goodness!
3.Coalila our darling cat was so pleased to see us and be in her own territory. I don’t know how they pass the time in a cage most of the day! Here she gives me the look!
LOL! You are lucky she needs you! That is quite a look she's giving you!

"is there any end to your picture taking? didn't you have enough?" that's the look she's giving you methinks! hehehe!
November 20th, 2015
That is really a ... Don't leave me for 6 weeks again.... ever... Nice for you to be in your own bed.. no place like home..
November 20th, 2015
The look that says "Welcome home - but I can't believe that you went without me!" Our cats do the same.
November 20th, 2015
@julzmaioro - right! One's own bed must be the one that you have chosen and stayed with because of suitability!
November 20th, 2015
@summerfield She's got her eyes half closed which she does when giving affectionate looks!
November 20th, 2015
It's always good to be home again, no matter how great the holiday. That sure is some look she's giving you!
November 20th, 2015
Very intense look, great portrait

Bep
Lovely portrait of Coalila.
November 20th, 2015
@gijsje Well done for spelling her name right, Bep! Most people get it wrong!
November 20th, 2015
That certainly is a look, beautiful eyes
November 20th, 2015
A great capture.
November 20th, 2015
She is saying don.t ever do this again. travelling is wonderful, but coming home is great too. enjoyed your pictures.
November 20th, 2015
I'm sure she was thrilled to be back with you and, in this picture, is telling you that you shouldn't go away again for a while. I had a cat who, whenever I got home after being away, would poop just once on the carpet to let me know how she felt, and then resume her normal flawless litter box use. Btw, your cat's name is beautiful. Does it have a particular meaning?
November 20th, 2015
What a great expression.
November 20th, 2015
She obviously did not like being left without her home comfort and your company for all those weeks !! -- her expression tells it all -"I am NOT amused " !!
November 20th, 2015
@tristansmum I'm glad our cat didn't do that, Stephanie - afraid she would get flying lessons if she did! Her name is the name of a scotch malt!
November 20th, 2015
@beryl She's not amused at my taking her photo, Beryl - always isn't! But she will put up with it being home!
November 20th, 2015
She is obviously very pleased to have you back home but she will make you suffer for a bit to make you feel guilty!! That look says don't ever leave me again!! I am always pleased to get home to my own bed however wonderful a holiday has been.
November 20th, 2015
That "I'm not happy" look is perfectly captured.
November 21st, 2015
Great capture. I don't think she was amused by you being gone so long.
November 21st, 2015
Great capture of her expression even if she looks a bit annoyed :)
November 21st, 2015
Ah, the wither up and die look. My old dog, Marty was good at that one. H. on the other hand is very forgiving and the only time I have left her behind was for 2 days with a friend who had a puppy so honestly I don't think she even noticed I was gone.
November 21st, 2015
She has beautiful eyes and a wonderful expression; I also love the lighting in your photo ...Very nice job!
November 21st, 2015
@snaphappi the puppy would have driven Marty mad! But taken his mind off what and where he was!
November 21st, 2015
Beautiful self-possessed creature, nicely photographed. Is she an Abyssinian?
November 21st, 2015
@wordpixman she is, Arthur, nicely recognised! They are a beautiful breed!
November 21st, 2015
ha-cattitude!!! love it
November 21st, 2015
Love the 'look' Maggie. I've enjoyed following your travels but I expect it's good to be home again now
November 21st, 2015
Great capture i am sure she will forgive you :)
November 21st, 2015
Wow, awesome light Maggie.
November 21st, 2015
She doesn't look to happy with you right now. Poor kitty hope she get some special LOVIN for awhile.
November 21st, 2015
i loved seeing your trip. kitty will warm up soon.
November 21st, 2015
That is one clear glare at you!!
November 21st, 2015
home at last. The picture seems to contradict the text about about happy she is to see you.
November 21st, 2015
That is a look. Cats are very good at letting you know how they feel.
November 21st, 2015
A sort of "Where have you been" look. Nice capture.
November 21st, 2015
I agree with Francoise, the cat looks ready to attack rather than being ready to cuddle!
November 21st, 2015
That is quite a look she is giving you. I have to agree with Francoise and Sally, haha. I love the way you've captured her though. The colors are wonderful.
November 21st, 2015
amazing green eyes! wow
November 21st, 2015
Wonderful face and light.
November 21st, 2015
Coalila is happy to be home I bet....you will be very glad to see she has weathered the time you have been away reasonably well. Love to have seen her face when she saw you again!
November 21st, 2015
@happypat She's on a hunger strike at the moment, Pat - refuses all the food I've put down - damn cat!
November 21st, 2015
Poor cat, I know that look.
November 22nd, 2015
Glad you are safe. Nothing like your own bed....
November 22nd, 2015
@maggiemae sulking!!
November 22nd, 2015
She has lovely green eyes but does not look too happy
November 22nd, 2015
For a split second, I though this was a cougar - expect you're in trouble for leaving her!
November 22nd, 2015
Somebody's in trouble and that somebody is you! Six weeks away.
