I wrote this poem 12 years ago when I lived in the country and watched the sun come up over trees into our 2nd storey bedroom. The bird chorus was real!
Three good things:
1. This poem was published in an international book of poetry and was on the first page!
2. All the photos except the swallow came from my files
3. Getting keen about this Welsh trip and using Maps.google.
You obviously had writing potential from an early age. Where in Wales are you visiting . We have seen quite a bit of it over the years and I love holidays there
I have 2 poems that were published in the international book of poetry, neither on the first page, but I was still thrilled!! This is beautiful! Promise to get back to commenting tomorrow!!! Love this!! FAV!
@cashew It mightn't be this one called "Invoking the Muse' There is a Katherine L McClure here but I don't think that can be you? My tomorrow photo is a butterfly - I'm going to dedicate it to you!
@maggiemae No, it's not me, I'm under Kathleen A Hall and it may even be a different book than you have. I think mine were back in 1998 or so, I dedicated it to my son, the first one and the other was just for fun!! I'm really not a poet unless I'm moved!! Thank You sooooooooo much for dedicating a butterfly to me, I'm sure you know how much that means to me, but if you don't, I Love you for it!!! Hugs!!
The thing I like about your poem is that it is written from the heart, says all the things you thought and felt. Nicely shown with your own shots too. When I first retired and I was finding my way in a new world, I did by chance start to write poems about people and things, feelings in my life. Also decorated by clip art and then built around my photos. None of them literary masterpieces but precious to me. The words just flowed for about 2 yrs and then bowling and 365 took over!
@jennywren Well, its good that you have written in the past - can always do it again! Mine's not a literary masterpiece either but its what was in my mind!
