Flower of the night by maggiemae

Flower of the night

My first attempt to take this flower leaning out into the night and found it a challenge. The ISO was more than I’ve ever seen it and I couldn’t focus using manual.

It needs to be better but might look good on the black…

Three good things:
1. I did remember to turn on the outside light and get this late shot
2. Vaccinations for typhoid and flu didn’t register at all.
3. Our 5th meal eating this lamb leg that I won in a raffle!
Still looks good against the black

@inthecloud5 It puts out its skirts just like a ballerina, I think Christine!

It is gorgeous on or off of black! Well done. I like the composition.
If you win more raffles you may never need to shop for food again! ;~}

@grammyn Ah, Katy - but we bought 7 tickets before we won this! $2/ticket!
March 31st, 2016
@maggiemae Well then it might be cheaper to go shopping! ;~}

@grammyn The value of this leg of lamb is that it came straight from the farm, Katy. Normally be about NZ$26.00 in the shops!

This looks good to me, the red fuchsias are lovely against the dark background.

The Red is rather dramatic against the black. I really like it.

Awesome and dramatic ...This looks especially gorgeous on the black background! Fav!

Beautiful, they look like dancing. I know your pain, if you have a tripod you can also use longer shutter spead so you don´t need to use high ISO, wide aperlature works too

So delicate! My grandmother used to have these in her garden and I've always liked them.
April 1st, 2016
@susale I literally plaster the camera to my forehead and if I am stabilised against a wall or something I find that works as good as a tripod, Suse! However you can rely on a tripod. Not necessarily my forehead! Would F2.8 work better do you think/

@redy4et I like the word, delicate, Elizabeth as you can see by the other buds at the side, they haven't got their skirts flared like these two!
