Another day in Tianjin but today we got in the shuttle and 40 minutes later after travelling between acres of containers and reclaimed land we were in the city of 16 million inhabitants. We had planned to get the shuttle back at 2pm but around that time the bus had not arrived. The ship’s lady came hurrying over the busy road where traffic tooted and pedestrians wandered across in front of cars, to say there was no bus at 2pm. A passing black limousine stopped and said he would take us back to the ship for $130yuan. So we hopped in and I hoped we were not being kidnapped!
Three Good Things:
1. We were not.
2. Missed lunch but had afternoon tea with a fragrant ‘white’ tea.
3. Watched the boat leave the port at 7pm and when this photo was taken. it reminded me of a painting .
So glad you made it back to the boat and were not kidnapped !! you certainly are having an adventure !! A beautiful painterly scene -- reminds me of Turner's paintings .
Beautiful sky and love the dark colors of the water. Maggie, what a scare. I'm always afraid that might happen to us and we miss the ship. from now on, we better make sure we have enough money on us. glad you made it back in time.
your picture is a fav. for me.
