Posting this tonight while we have brief time for internet. Our departure from Osaka today was inspiring! A large band of young people played in a brass band with lots of drums and cymbals and a young quartet of agile dancers cavorted across the concrete pier. From the boat we were waving and cheering while sipping our lunch martinis - wine in my case. There were so many people at this outdoor deck restaurant that we had to wait for our food but the waiters kept plying us with drinks- I lost count! Seem to make a habit of ricocheting off walls!
Three good things:
1. The fire boat came out to give us a display as seen here!
2. Went up in the largest Ferrywheel in - somewhere. It took 15 minutes to go around and I couldn’t look! It gave me the willies!
3. An apologetic letter from the Captain saying unfortunately they couldn’t control the weather that we experienced recently! We thought that he could - Captains can do anything!
A superb shot Maggiemae ,and your humorous account of the day is not to be missed -- you should make your travels and experiences into a book !!-- another one for under your belt !
This could have been taken in New York City. Sounds like a marvelous lunch but perhaps not conducive to preventing wall ricocheting! Good for you to take the Ferris wheel ride even if you didn't look!
