The second day in Vancouver brought sunshine and activity. I walked (according to my iPhone, 6.4km along the walkway beside Stanley Park. i met lots of bikers, walkers but only one skater (our previous visit some years ago, I noted there were just about all skaters - must be old hat now!). This photo was taken on the road outside our hotel and I just had to……
Three Good Things:
1. Plenty of rest for the old bones.
2. Bought a new lipstick - only $33 Canadian! Help!
3. This is a lovely city - I would love to live here - if I had a million dollars!
Wonderful shot, love the processing, the van seems to really pop off the screen. I have always fancied one of these but never actually took the plunge. There was an old one with the split windscreen, featured in the paper recently. It had lived in the USA for most of it's life, brought over to the UK it has been fully restored and is coming up for auction shortly. It's expected to fetch over £120,000, ($ 175,000 US), I think I better dust off my cheque book.
What a wonderful version of this van, so nicely restored... made the better by your excellent edit. How fun it would be, to drive about in this classic.
hey there. hope you and john had a good flight. and welcome to Toronto (when you get here). can you please email me when you get to the hotel or reply to this comment then I will call you. can't wait to see you. if you're up to it and there's not much traffic, we might kidnap you and bring you to downtown Toronto and we'll do the "Toronto tradition" as in this one: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-still/2015-05-20
Thanks Vikki - at the Sheraton Gateway now and recovering. I fell backwards down an upwards escalator with two heavy bags falling on me (trust me) and got a few scrapes. I"m in Room 366. Love to do that downtown Toronto with you. Katy @grammyn rang me in the plane today! Funny we know the people so well but never heard the voices!
@maggiemae I was thinking the same thing about never hearing the voices before! I was absolutely over the moon just to talk to you and so wish it were in my time frame to meet with you and Vikki and Bill !
holy camoley. are you okay? yes, wish @grammyn katy and ann @olivetreeann were also with us. i didn't have time to notify the other toronto 365ers plus i am never good with organizing meet ups, so i apologize for that. we will be there by 11-ish at least, we will ry to be on time and plan to leave early depending on what kind of traffic we see on the highway. my cellphone is 416-875-4613 just in case you need to call. bill's is 647-545-3416. we will call from the lobby once we get there. so excited!! and it was so wonderful to have spoken with you. your voice is what i had expected. funny thing, huh? in any case, see you tomorrow!
We must have passed each other somewhere over the Pacific! I go to visit your area of the world and you come over this way - although you appear to be in Canada, aka "America's Hat." Sorry to be incommunicado for so long. I have plenty of catch-up to do. While visiting some motorcycling friends in Australia I ran into some Kiwi friends who also know Burt. This world just keeps getting smaller and smaller. Oh, and I love this shot!
@summerfield I was hoping you would get the exact date to me to see if I could shoot up there. Becky, Erick and kids were down this week end (May 27 to 30) so maybe it wouldn't have worked but boy would I have loved to be there!
