Young guitarist by maggiemae

Young guitarist

Balfe,17, has ambitions to be one of the best finger-guitarists in the world, and is fundraising to get himself to Poland where the Guitar Master World Championships will be held in November.
The seventeen-year-old has been playing for seven years and is completely self-taught, watching Youtube videos over and over until he mastered the skill.

Here he is in Oamaru where he lives trying to raise the money! He is so good, I put in $20.00 and don’t regret it!

Three good things:
1 This was at a new event called a ‘Tato’ race. People paid $5 for a potato to roll down a road and the prize for the furtherest won $100
2. I really can’t say that no potatoes were injured in this event!
3. But I cooked chips tonight and John grilled steak on the outside bbq and its not summer!
Great b&w photo and story :)

I went onto this young mans site & listened to him playing, he is excellent & I hope he gets his dream! You were very generous but something like that sometimes just grabs you! You know it's going straight to the cause you wish to support with no middle men! BBQ already.....you are really getting in the summer mode! Love that Peter & Jane posting about Bbqs on FB just my sort of humour!

Graphic shot of this young man. Best of luck to him. I was hoping we could hear him play in one of those links.

Tato race sounds like fun Did you use some of those hurt potatoes for the chips you cooked?

@grammyn There are various sites on his page, Katy where he plays! I use potatoes that have been precooked and in a frozen pack but come from one particular area up the road called Makikahi.
