The Card says... by maggiemae

The Card says...

I’m afraid I’ve not got much incentive at the moment. This is a birthday card that John gave me. With a bit of editing…

The opening line is: A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME HOW OLD YOU ARE NOW!…

Three good things;
1. Hopefully a better night’s sleep tonight - no deep thinking!
2. North Indian Butter Chicken - 3 packets make this dish plus you provide the chicken! Quite nice.
3. The lawns got done - I donned a helmet with a visor so I wouldn’t get sprayed by any stones in the outside garden. Probably looked like some TV character as the helmet was too big for me and kept slipping down so I couldn’t see where I was going!

And as an update on the present situation in NZ, we are fine - didn't feel the earthquake but the pendulum clock stopped at the precise moment!
After hearing the news about the earthquake earlier today I've been hoping you haven't been affected - so glad you haven't been. Amazing the clock stopped though.

Have a peaceful night tonight.

I've sent this card before..different design but the same comment. Glad only your clock felt the tremors. Are you in the South Island?

@jqf Yes we are, Jacqui. All OK in our town though but further north there is much damage!

Very happy to hear that you are fine; the earthquake sounded rather bad from what our news reported.

The card is so funny ...Nice job of capturing this wonderful memory. I didn't realize that it was around your birthday; I hope that you have/had a great time celebrating!

@dsp2 My birthday was last month.......there is no damage around our place but lots further north!

I'm amazed you didn't feel anything maggie, you must be good sleepers! William even felt it near Hamilton & doors rattled etc! Great card & the best end fir that bird!

@happypat It must have happened the time I actually was asleep, Pat! Awake a lot sometimes!
November 13th, 2016
I hadn't heard about the earthquake so just checked it out. So scary - glad you are safe where you are. My thought and prayers are with those further north who have been hit badly. Stay safe!
November 13th, 2016
So glad to hear that you are all OK - thoughts are with those who have been struck by this.

I have been thinking of all the NZ 365'ers...glad you are ok. Fascinated the clock stopped... Hope all those you know are safe too.

@hrs Thanks Helen - our friends on the waterfront in Christchurch were evacuated at 12.15AM! How awful!
November 13th, 2016
I'd do the same with that bird.
Glad you've not felt the effects of the earthquake, but how weird that your clock stopped.

there are so many birds like that but glad to know you're being looked after. glad to know, too, that you are safe.

when i see "indian" in your narratives, i always think of the motorcycle. so i was wondering why the words butter and chicken are with "indian"!!!

What a fun card, Maggiemae. Was going to ask you how you are doing as I heard the news this morning. Glad you are ok and how strange that your clock stopped at the exact moment. Is your clock back to working now?
