A Plateau by maggiemae

A Plateau

We had to get this damage fixed so arranged at a Panel Beaters to have it done. In the meantime we had 2 hours to fill in. Drove up on to the high steppes of this valley and opened the car door on to a heavenly scent of wild thyme! Growing wild all over this part. It was not flowering but still had form and the most wonderful scent.
Three good things:
1. This was fixed according to John’s directions and paid for with one of Burt Munro’s books. Very satisfactory on both sides.
2. This cloud was here all day… part of the weather system.
3. Another wonderful place to put down our caravan legs - beside a big wide and blue lake!
The lines of cloud and road are quite fantastic in this. And the light patch in the background is great too. Quite a mesmerising picture.

Very dramatic Maggiemae... glad the act of senseless hooliganism has been sorted out... but it still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

Love those patches of blue maggie, the blue of the hills, the blue reflecting off the car & that strategically placed blue canister. All looks heavenly! .
January 23rd, 2017
I hope you weren't under a cloud for too long. Love the colours in this!
January 23rd, 2017
@happypat That blue canister holds all our water, Pat. We fill it up when we arrive. Poached eggs on toast here!
January 23rd, 2017
@vignouse It is rather dramatic processing but the 'soft' look wasn't good enough, Richard!

January 24th, 2017
@aglennc Well we are in our summer time so that is what you would be doing here. We got it fixed in 1/2 hour - they glued a plate on with a few pop rivets!
January 24th, 2017
That doesn't even look remotely real! Wowser.
January 24th, 2017
Wow, what a wonderful, bizarre cloud formation. It frames your caravan nicely - and I love the texture!
January 24th, 2017
@aikimomm I didn't actually take this photo for the cloud, Phoebe! Only after post processing did it seem to take the front stage!
January 24th, 2017
@stray_shooter It was bizarre as you say, Ron - an effect from several very low weather systems coming in from the south of NZ within 2 - 3 days!
January 24th, 2017
Fantastic capture and processing. The clouds are stunning. Fav.
