Driving north through high temperatures - maybe 27degrees was just a bit high! Our next destination was a beach north of Christchurch called Waikuku where we had never been before!
Three Good Things:
1. We trod up a sandy trail to the high sandhills above this beach. A wonderful sight only seen if you drive down this no exit road.
2. We went off trail and had to force our way through brambles, sudden holes in the ground, shoulder high thistles back to the camping ground. Who’s silly idea was this, I said to John as he tried to extricate his foot from under a sunken branch!
3. The sound of rain on the roof!
