Brave enough in high temperatures to walk what we found out to be only 1.2km to Dows Lake to the west. Thought it was far more than this! We sat there and admired the view of the lake, pulled our feet back from the walkway where bikes shot past (hence panning photo) and people wandered past with the ubiquitous water bottles.
Three good things;
1 At the nearby lake restaurants, I ordered mussels in a creamy wine . There were lots - all smaller than we were used to but about 6 or 7 that were locked and my fork was not the key. In fact a large splash of sauce went all over me! The restaurant took the whole dish off the bill!
2. Walking down the road with a cup of coffee is not always a good idea. But we only spilled one drop.
3. Canada TV plays Wimbledon - so good!
How nice to get your meal for free just because of some contrary mussels.
