Our last day here and I absorbed everything I could to remember in the future.
This was at 9pm outside our unit.
Three good things:
1. Washing and drying took all day. But Ok.
2. Wimbledon on the big screen in the Party Room - I’d watched how to press the right buttons to get this to go!!
3. A wonderful documentary about TomThomson of Canada and his paintings. Early 1900’s.
ah, so you're having some artful canadian lessons. tom thompson paintings are rather popular. safe travels, maggiemae. sorry we couldn't get connected personally. but there's always the next time!
I had not heard of the Group of Seven Painters of which Thompson who you mentioned was a part of. We saw a great exhibition of their work while there...they reimagined the Canadian landscape and are of great significance.
You had a gorgeous view. love the golden evening light. on to more adventures.
please ignore my earlier comment..something went cuckoo with it when I put it on the bottom to google something and when I went back to it, it had posted itself and I never had the chance to finish it.. here is what I had meant to say:
Number 3 of your tree good things: Many years ago, Hans and I visited the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, On. (this is the name of the gallery), it's located on 100 acres of forested land about a little more than an hour's drive from home, we enjoyed viewing pictures of the famous Canadian Group of Seven at the time.
Lovely lighting- it looks like this was a fine home away from home for you. Safe travels as you head west and hopefully the next time you're in Niagara we'll be able to finally meet. The car is fixed and in good shape now but alas, Las Vegas is just too far away to drive!
great colours
Sounds exiting. Have fun and enjoy!
