Bands of Colour by maggiemae

Bands of Colour

it is very difficult in this area -the time changes within 1 hour! At this very moment it could be 8.22 …… or 9.22pm! Both my computer and my iPhone are arguing!
This is taken on the way to a small town called Kanab deep in the heart of Canyonvillle. We booked in to this Lodge and the pool was just wonderful.. deeper than my head!
Three good things:
1. We fished out our whisky bought long ago because we are not sure whether we are in Utah, or in Arizona… Is it one hour ahead or one hour behind..
2. Ate lots of cherries bought a long time ago in Joshua Tree and will probably suffer.
3. A sign outside this little town : “Abrakanabra”
Lovely capture

Impressive colour bands, and gorgeous cloud to top it off.

Such impressive bands of colours in the rock face -- the cloud seems to be a welcome relief from all the dryness of the land !

This landscape is amazing. I'm always attracted to this type of landform. The layers are so amazing and immediately set me pondering how many eons it has taken to create such a sight.

Beautiful scenery

Sounds as if there was lots of confusion this day with time and "wet" and "dry "states. Glad you had a nice pool to cool off in

@grammyn on research, Katy ... the Navajo people recognise daylight time and the state of Arizona doesn't! A tiny area where time means something else!
