The weather was cold and drizzly and the forecast was better in Central Otago so we packed up and set off. This is Hampden Beach where we ate our lunch and watched the seagulls.
Three Good Things;
1. Lunch was a steak pie and sausage roll (not had too often)!
2. Everything went ticketty boo and we ended the day at a Historic Place with a small cafe and lots of engineering museum pieces. In a field alone, surrounded by trees, two highland cattle and a small jumping black lamb!
3. Voted today - closes on Saturday for the same government.
A great place to have lunch .. looks like the seagulls are hoping for some crumbs.. You camped about as far from the sea you can get last night .. fingers crossed re election..
@happysnaps There were a few scraps of flaky pastry, Valerie but they still squabbled over those!. Did not stay here -it was 2 hours drive further inland.
Good job your wheels didn't sink in the sand! That would have been a worry if the tide came in! Well voted, I have been following with interest the electioneering & all the discussion about the water & irrigation.
A lovely place to stop for lunch with those lovely waves lapping at your door . Look as if you have lots of hangers-on hoping for a share of your lunch !! Enjoy your adventure !!
Now I see - it isn't a van, it is a bus! Glad I don't have to drive that but it must be great to tow your home wherever you fancy. And you have the beach to yourself.
Great place to park- I guess you move before the tide comes in! Love that phrase "tickety boo"! It reminds me of my professor from NZ who loved the phrase "higglety pigglety".
I need to make some time for a proper catch up!
