Moeraki Bay by maggiemae

Moeraki Bay

In the late evening the westerly sun shone right on to this lovely wee harbour and lit up the houses and boats so nicely!
Three good things:
1. When we arrived we were the only ones here in this camping spot.
2. Later on... more and more arrived until we could hear all the conversations, babies crying, water pumps pumping etc etc. We don't mind sharing such a beautiful view.
3. You can see Fleurs famous restaurant from here - but her prices are super high - $NZ 43 for one meal of fish etc!
Beautiful shot, Maggiemae...love the composition, light

This is beautiful - go on, treat yourselves to a meal at Fleurs! @julzmaioro and I had a meal there on our way to a Camera course. Was beautiful - saddest part was probably the fact that I don’t eat fish! Fleur even sat with us for a while.

Seems autofocus picked up the plant in the foreground, or was it intentional?

@happypat Yes it is - right on the far cape overlooking the little village of Moeraki. Where you were, we were eating in the cafe right above!

It reminds of a phrase from a poem or hymn 'shades of evening'. Quite lovely.

@s4sayer "But, ere the shades of evening close,. Is scattered on the ground—to die! Yet on the rose's humble bed, 5. The sweetest dews of night are shed,. As if she wept the waste to see—. But none shall weep a tear for me! My life is like the autumn leaf. That trembles in the moon's pale ray: 10. Its hold is frail—its date is brief,."?
