Thistle do for this day.. by maggiemae

Thistle do for this day..

Not a good weather day so had to go with what I caught on my way home walking from the shops! The thistle was at least 4 feet high.

Three good things:
1. We got given some plums and some cherries so it’s eat one …or two….as you go past.
2. Did some chips in the deep fryer - the best option for the correct temperature.
3. John went to a barber for a hair cut - the first time for years - I always did it. But I’ve retired.
I gave up cutting my husband’s hair too. Honestly it was getting a bit thin and I found that harder to cut. 4’ tall thistles, oh my!

@louannwarren The barber did a much better job than I could, Lou Ann! It looks so neat now.

Ooh , what witty title !! and a lovely close-up of this thistle Maggie -- you make me smile , so you are retired from cutting John's hair !

@beryl It took a lot of courage to say that, Beryl. But my hand shakes a lot more nowadays and I might do him an injury with my sharp scissors!

Fun title! Looks like the thistle is approaching artichoke status!

@cathieg You are right - except its not an artichoke! Pity!

Ooh you must show us the new haircut! All set for your travels then! Thistles are not good news but this is a very handsome sample! Proper chips, you can't beat them!

The thistle is lovely; I imagine that the birds will love it. It must be quite impressive at 4 foot tall!

Love your #3. Was it his idea or yours to go to a barber ;-) ?

@happypat done in an oven - they are too crisp and hard, done in a frypan - too soggy and fatty. More tonight!

@gijsje My idea - at first he remonstrated - I'm not going to a Barber"!
