On the way to our end destination, we looked at a campsite beside an old ‘country tavern”. It must have been so old and tired that it was locked at 2.30pm! John said “Hello Goat’ to one such being and it trotted forward with a loose rope. He thought he could lead it to the front door but after it tried to butt me and escape to the outside world, John took strong command. At the front door, the goat started to eat the pot plants, the door was locked, so back we went to the back garden where John tied said goat up.
Three good things:
1. It was good to decide to go on - in the next city there was a special camper van place to park right by the river where the overseas boats came in!
2. Not so good, were the prices at the riverside restaurants. However the pizza was more than we wanted and twice as good!
3. No power here so not so can't do much that I wanted to do…We used an inverter to get power in from the cigarette lighter briefly on the drive but my computer needs a new battery, I think!
With all the challenges of powerless travel and hook-ups, you still always manage to post your photos. What dedication and ingenuity you must have. And, what a splendid tree you have found.
@grammyn The tree is one of those NZ trees, the Pohutukawa and now is in danger of being overcome by a nasty fungus or something. They have admitted it is out of control!
Only a goat in charge then, no wonder there weren't any other clients, the goat is obviously not doing it right! You do amazingly well managing to,post your photos in such out of the way places!
