Lone leaf hangs on by maggiemae

Lone leaf hangs on

I noticed one tiny leaf hanging on to the climbing rose. It caught the late sun…

Three good things:
1. John and I reminisced about food dishes that we grew up with and really made favourite. Me - chocolate fudge pudding, John, steamed pudding!
2. My Mum also made hokey pokey - you know - golden syrup and baking soda added at the right time then furious stirring!
3. Got a book delivered first thing this morning. A book about my mother’s sister who went to Russia in 1929 and her story. Written by a relative who researched this story so well. More about that in another posting.
Lovely backlighting, lovely framing, a fav:)

Your family did some amazing traveling....I think o know where you get your abventurous spirit! All stodgy puddings are the favourites! The lovely light on your fence & hedge. I like the low light.

@happypat I think the travelling was on my mother's side, Pat! My father - the only travel was to England in the First World War as a Padre to the Regiments!

the leaf takes its place centre stage very well. Lovely shot. I'm curious about the hokey pokey thing - not sure what you would end up with. And, the book sounds fascinating.

@helenhall It solidifies, Helen then you break it up into pieces of golden hokey pokey!

A lovely capture of the leaf. Hokey pokey! I never knew what it was, ha! So after she stirred it furiously what was it served on? Pancakes?

@louannwarren No Lou Ann- as I said to @helenhall it goes all crunchy and hard and you break it up into bite size pieces.

Nice image. My mum used to make a great golden syrup steamed pudding when we were little. Can you believe it - pudding every night. When we asked what was for pudding, her reply would be ‘wait and see pudding!’

Terrific shot of this leaf as it catches the afternoon raise. Beautiful lake for the photo I have never heard of hokey pokey before. How grand to have the book about your aunt

Reminiscing about your favorite foods sounds like a quite fun pastime! The book about your aunt sounds fascinating -- How exciting her trip to Russia must have been for her!
