Cycle path

We often have wonderful winter weather here. In my youth - secondary school, I biked all the way home for lunch, sat out on the verandah and pulled up my ghastly grey uniform to let the sun tan my legs!

In this cool but sunny day, I biked down the Rail Trail. It was low sun but good to feel when you were in it. It wasn’t here. My nose got cold but it was a gentle downhill run.
Three Good Things,
1. John went mad again with his hedge cutter - this time under the deck. I thought the neighbour had gone haywire but it turns out they just had a conversation.
2. I used to clean up behind him but now, because I can’t bend, it is left on the pathways. Not to worry! Its all taken away in bags on Thursdays.
3. Burnt the potatoes in the pot badly while trying to work out where 2500 photos had gone on my computer. Eventually got a clean pot. ….and the photos!
Beautiful lighting, love your editing

I love this photo Maggiemae and the image you conjure up of cycling along in the sunshine. Number 3 made me laugh (sorry) but I'm glad it had a happy ending. - certainly loosing that many photos would be enough to make you forget the boiling potatoes.

i cant tell you how many things i have burnt because my mind was on 365...
July 17th, 2018
How funny you & I must have thought alike tonight! So very similar to my shot! Live the light streaming in through the trees. Burnt potatoes are a nightmare, the smell lasts for ages & that pan.........
July 17th, 2018
Gorgeous.can see myself cycling there...oops burnt pot..my pan was never the same! Glad you found photos
July 17th, 2018
I too gave burnt stuff while looking at 365 stuff, so easy to be distracted.
July 17th, 2018
Great shot and processing.................very inviting to bike on!
I will be right over lol!

Lovely memories to go with that lovely light. 365 is responsible for all those burnt pots! Me too! Nothing that a bit of baking soda, white vinegar and elbow grease won't cure.

Very nice

Bep
Beautiful picture and lovely memories of you as a school girl.
July 17th, 2018
@happypat I opened the window but the smell went right through the house! This pot was salvageable but another pot had to go into the garden house for pot plants!

This is such a cool image. 2500 photos! That must have just been last month’s captures! 😊
July 17th, 2018
@kiwinanna I'll try and remember that, Liana! There will be another, of course. Baking soda, white vinegar!
July 17th, 2018
@louannwarren It was one album and about 3 months of photos, Lou Ann!
July 17th, 2018
@maggiemae Oh! So glad they were recovered!
July 17th, 2018
@louannwarren Heaven knows what I did - kept pushing buttons!

@grammyn It really was pure coincidence Katy! Time of day and light behind me. Thanks!
July 17th, 2018
Such a nightmare burning potatoes when otherwise distracted ! The smell in the house is horrific and the saucepan aagh !! Nice view of the path with the winter sun streaming through the trees ! Glad your photos reappeared !

July 18th, 2018
@Dawn Oh dear - hope there were no broken bones. Picking yourself up with your bike on top of you is most embarrassing!

July 18th, 2018
A gorgeous scene that looks like a painting. Love the light!
July 18th, 2018
PS -- your potato pot disaster reminded me of today's oatmeal stove spill disaster...stovetop hopefully will recover.
July 18th, 2018
@taffy Oh, I think porridge spill is as bad as potato burn. Its so sticky!
July 18th, 2018
@maggiemae It's yucky...but since Jim did it, I'm letting him solve it...he does seem to have figured out a way to clean it up but it involves leaving stuff on it overnight.
July 18th, 2018
@taffy Oh well, you'll just have to go out for dinner tonight!
July 18th, 2018
@maggiemae teehee! We did!
July 18th, 2018
A lovely scene. I can just see you cycling along this path. Glad to hear No 3 on your good things ended well.
July 18th, 2018
@onewing We tend to spend so much time on trying to fix computer problems!
July 18th, 2018
@maggiemae ha ha same here. We had a problem yesterday after our settings changed when Windows 10 did an update. The air was blue. Luckily David sorted out the problem eventually.
July 18th, 2018
Nice path. Lovely edit.
July 18th, 2018
A great shot of this path. my husband took my bike away when I had a little mishap. he put both his and mine on the curb and they were picked up real quick.
July 19th, 2018
@onewing Babs I just happened to see your comment on Maggiemae's picture Cycle Path about Window 10 update. it happened to us too. Hans had a difficult time sorting out the problem too.
July 19th, 2018
I really like the "glowing" feel of this shot. I can feel the warmth of the sun in it.
July 19th, 2018
