Street scene by maggiemae

Street scene

Today there was no inspiration. I went downtown with John who was looking for a large paving stone. He went one way, I went another and just took this photo from where we were parked. The editing from photos cape took my eye!
Three good things:
1. Everybody I met looked so happy!
2. Blue sky and sun all day!
3. Usual Friday fish and chips - this time - red cod, one of the cheaper but so tender! I also did battered mushrooms!
You got nice colours out of this scene and your supper sounded tasty!

@casablanca Yes, all the red roofs - so much nicer than the modern grey!

You have dobe a magnificent job of making it look like a night scene!

Nice light on the while building...#3 Sounds delicious.

Highlights and shadows - a bright mysteriousness added to your so-so day.

@snaphappi A fairly ordinary photo but the edit brought out some colours and shadowed others!

@grammyn It was sunny but there were so many huge trees very near that there were also lots of shadows, Katy!

#3 sounds wonderful. I had fish and chips for lunch at our local Italian cafe, flathead tails, very good, as usual. Love the colours you've got into this shot, lots of pop.

Very cool lighting and color on this one! Fav.

I like your editing, the colors are so rich! Red Cod? I’ve never heard of it, we do love cod, though. I’ll have to look for the red version.

Lovely shot and processing.

@louannwarren Its a ground feeder, Lou Ann - and so very thin fillets but very tender!

@golftragic Is that the name of the shop, Marnie? Or the name of the dish! Flathead Tails....

Very dramatic and exciting use of color and light.

@ludwigsdiana I think a day can be anything you want it to be! Depends on your outlook. 365 seems to create good experiences for the best view of the day!

Nice light there

Sounds and looks like a very nice day.

@maggiemae Flathead is a very tasty local fish and very popular. Flathead tails is the term used for the best bit/s of the fillet down the tail end where there aren't any bones. Expensive, but delicious and no waste and no bones, very commonly used here at home and restaurants.
August 12th, 2018
@golftragic Ah...this is what the filleters must do as there never is any bones in the fish fillets that you buy!
August 12th, 2018
@maggiemae Yep, got it one. Don't know about you, but I'm happy to pay more for the convenience of no-bones.
August 12th, 2018
@golftragic Me too! As a child, I hated fish - always picking bones out of your mouth!
August 12th, 2018
@maggiemae I can well remember doing that too. To tell the truth fish-bones rather scare me, I remember seeing someone who had one stuck in the throat and had to seek medical attention.
August 12th, 2018
@golftragic we were told to have buttered bread on hand in case we swallowed one. Suppose to wrap itself around the bone! Never had occasion to try this!
August 12th, 2018
@maggiemae That was tried at the time, to no avail. Very scary, stuff like that stays with you.

Awesome shot
