John had just had his hair cut by a barber ( forced into doing this as I refused to cut his hair any more - after 40 years) and I must say this is a super result!
I got this photo while skulking on the sidewalk waiting for him. Crossing the road to our equally super car called, Sadie. A Mer..sadies. Good on the Black too!
Three good things;
!. Planted all the plants I had bought which wasn’t easy - some places were near a tree that had been cut and the roots were so difficult to cut through! Both John and I took some minutes to become vertical!
2. Father’s Day coming up so I’m planning on doing a chocolate fudge pudding for that day!
3. Our garden looks like a Park! The lady came roaring in with her ride-on and cut the lawn so beautifully!
Tidy John....Harry loves going to have his hair done & would go every week if it grew fast enough...I think he finds it a nice social occasion! This photo reminds me of Whitehall in London, he could be marching into parliament! Your lovely Omurua stone looking good!
@happypat On the left is a Portuguese styled building, once a post office now a restaurant called 'The Last Post' and on the right the later Post Office, now Council Buildings but it does have the town clock on top!
This is a lovely image. He is striding it out back to Sadie. I always used to cut the males hair in our household, but gave up years ago too. With 4 males, it was quite a saving!
Beautiful historic building.
Love your #2 and your sense of humour.
Father's day in my part of the world is in June. Chocolate fudge pudding sounds delicious!
FAV A superb photo even if it weren’t of John! It has a great composition and you are right about it being perfect on black. Funny how you figured out the name of your car! Your Father’s Day pudding sounds good and I’m glad your garden is looking like a park! I hope it was worth all the effort you put into it planting those plants
Haha! Nice haircut and car! Love the image in B&W. P.S. Please share your chocolate fudge pudding recipe. I just use JELLO cook and serve and love it warm!
@joysfocus Its from my childhood history, Joy and I have to find a similar recipe. A basic chocolate dough sprinkled with brown sugar then before cooking boiling water is poured on the top. It cooks with a delicious crust on top and custardy chocolate sauce on the bottom!
A fabulous B&W capture of both hubby and Sadie. Sounds like you had a very fulfilled day. Pudding sounds delicious and the recipe would interest me too :-)
Nice shot. I'm with you Maggie I used to cut David's hair for the first 40 years that we were married too and now I just send him to Just Cutz. I'd had enough of cutting it too.
@onewing@dide How much did we save on hairdressing bills! Do we get any thanks? I actually think its good for them to have a chat with the Barber - who generally knows everything!
VML this 'motion' shot, it has the feel of a still from a film. I’ve cut R’s hair for years...down to the wood with an electric razor. He trims the beard.
Ha ha, Sadie - that made me smile! I had a friend who used to cut my hair when we were very low paid. She had a habit of saying "oops, oh well...." after a snip so I didn't risk it with her too often!!
