This is the Water Wheel once more in place. It has taken seven years of renovation and restoration to finish this project. The Wheel was installed in 1878.
Three Good Things:
1. A visit with our local Lions to the new Retirement Village on top of the hill above this valley. Very impressive!
2. Completed all my 400 lots of exercises today and one exercise found some muscles that hadn't been used for a year or two!
3.Finally got my big computer going after 4 days of trying this and that!
@grammyn Originally it was a wheel than turned by water from a river which in turn, turned a mill that ground wheat, Katy! There were lots of big wheels like this in those days so they must have made lots of good bread!
Well you know they do say "history repeats itself" and with a wheel, it's over and over and over and over.......
It's great when a heritage like this one is brought back to life and it looks like it fits right in there. Good shot!
great to see it restored. love the colours too . all those greens. hope those muscles ok today.! bit sore myself last week after starting swimming again.ha ha i am the same.. always call it the big computer .1
A lovely scene,,does this actually work maggie? Well done the renovators! The all your Spring greenery looking splendid! 40 exercises...I must buck up I dont really do any except try & walk a bit! My big computer is so rarely used it takes ages to update when I dain to switch it on!
@brennieb Swimming is the best overall exercise! I just can't be bothered with all the undressing and putting clothes back on after showering - more water!
400 exercises - that sounds more than a bit challenging! That wheel has a lovely setting in amongst those trees and the little stream. I'm assuming it has enough water to turn the wheel?
going back to basics, there are of course some things then that our ancestors did that were earth friendly, time consuming they may be. kudos to your people for the restoration.
Oh yes this is lovely - so nice to see restoration projects come to fruition. Gorgeous greens - it must be Springtime in NZ.
Well done #2 :-)
