poppies by maggiemae

poppies

These are poppies that I let grow from the seed left in the soil. Not knowing what type they were. Another that is good on the Black.
Three Good Things:
1. Quite small poppies but that lovely scarlet colour and like the whirling skirts of flamenco! The background is as is - filtered light from inside the glasshouse.
2. Another fruit cocktail for MM - Mere Male -recouperating still - this time pineapple and apple.
3. My daily exercises have made me much stronger - can just pop out of my seat, get to my feet from the floor without holding on!
Beautiful Maggie , this is a striking image , presentation and framing ! FAV

You sound like an athlete, that is much harder than it sounds! I love poppies, delicate papery petals & of course so relevant this week.

@happypat I never thought of that - remembering World War One!
My exercises strength the core - so important, I reckon!

I really like this (even though the frame makes my eyes a little dizzy!)- all the colors are quite complimentary. Beautiful flowers- and I actually thought you posted them for WWI before I saw the comments.

A lovely shot and framing

Delicate and elegant...and whilst not intended you have created an image which signify light, hope and peace as we commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1.

@s4sayer It must have been intuition, Margo! I posted a comment on the NZ WW1 site but didn't realise the significance of my shot here!

Very pretty! Love the tall narrow look with that frame!
November 6th, 2018
@kwind Wouldn't it be good if we could make these photos a reality and this one would hang in the hallway!
November 6th, 2018
Great edit. I like it.

@ludwigsdiana Well in some ways, Diana.... hubby decided to go to Dr but that proved a good decision. And now, I think I've exercised too hard..! blast!
November 6th, 2018
Very neat, it is rewarding to have the flowers coming from the seeds.
November 6th, 2018
Yep, I think it would go well in your hallway, it's a ripper.
November 6th, 2018
@yaorenliu Well, yes in some ways but when they come up by the thousands, it needs a bit of control!
November 6th, 2018
@golftragic Now, if only I had a hallway!
November 6th, 2018
@maggiemae One shouldn't let a small detail like that hinder anything.
November 6th, 2018
@golftragic I might just ring the builders.... but then no, no room for a hallway!
November 6th, 2018
@maggiemae Mmmmm, needs a little lateral thinkin methinks.
November 6th, 2018
@golftragic a slight giggle emits from me!
November 6th, 2018
Flamenco, what a nice way to think about poppies. That frame is a bit of an optical illusion, isn't it? Keeps moving on me! I like it :)
November 6th, 2018
@casablanca I used to dance flamenco and only stopped because I forgot the steps! Still love the costumes and the dramatics!
November 6th, 2018
Your shot makes a wonderful framed picture. Very beautiful.

Beautiful poppies, Maggiemae! I am glad your exercises have made you stronger! They should be by how many you are suppose to be doing! Yikes! You can go teach a class now! :)

@gardenfolk By the time I've done all these hundreds of exercises, all I want to do is lie on the floor and recuperate..... not teach anybody except the carpet mites, I'm currently looking at!
November 7th, 2018
@maggiemae HaHa! :)
