Beach races feature today and everyone revelled in the sun and quiet winds. Thousands lined the track on the beach and cheers and clapping sounded when the Spirit of Munro, a modified Indian bicycle which ran at Bonneville ln 2017, did a demonstration run up the beach.
Three good things:
1. Got some good video and shots.
2. The sound of motorbikes from 7am to 11pm all round the city.
3. Put nail polish on for the first time in years.
@ludwigsdiana the nose comes into play too, Diana - all that sea air! But the noise of all those bikes starting at once sounds like a jet aircraft taking off!
@maggiemae Yeah, you’re right, I know a bit about revving. For nearly 20 years I rode a Honda to do all my farm work with sheep. Quite challenging along the river frontage with all the obstacles, and the rice paddies got pretty challenging too. Interesting carrying a full grown ewe on the pillion too!
The Isle of Man, where I lived until my late 30s has the world renowned TT (Tourist Trophy) every year in June. The Road Races, aka everyday roads and no special circuits are held every other day. On the in between days there are numerous bike events, including one like this. Wonderful to see, atmosphere cosmic.
