Wild Foods

It was the day of the Wild Foods festival here in Hokitika, South Island., NZ. I was at a loss as to what photo to post. The wild and weird and innovative costumes, the crowd all enjoying themselves so much, the food which was a challenge!
Three Good Things:
1. Where we are camped at a High School they are using this as a fund raising and obviously volunteers have 4 hours on patrol - all through the night! To keep us safe!
2. The huhu grubs tasted like hollow cellulose. Alive they might have been different but I just couldn’t do that!
3. Moonshine liquor - shot into the mouth like a petrol bowser - a new experience !

Looks like quite the festival. Fun costumes for that family- the kind of get-ups you take pictures of your children wearing then trot them out when they're teens to embarrass them!
