In Dunedin, an hour and a half down the road from home to an appointment at the hospital for John. Just a check up - no real change. His leg has been bandaged up now for 4 weeks and the current bandage is now for 2 weeks more.
This is the tower of the university seen over all the roofs.
Three Good Things:
1. We stayed the night in a comfortable hotel as a treat and a relax.
2. A short walk down the road to the Lone Star, a good restaurant.
3. Finding the right switch on my Fujifilm camera - it wouldn't take a photo.
I just had a fascinating five minutes looking up the architecture of the clock tower as I was intrigued by the style - which apparently has its origins in Flemish and Netherlands civic buildings. Thanks for the diversion.
Beautiful and interested clock Thanks @helenhall comment , as I was also intrigued by the style !
At least Joh's leg is not deteriorating - older skins do get thin and take such a long time to heal sometimes . At least you had a hotel stay as a treat while visiting the hospital !
Love this shot...we have happy memories of Dunedin where we stayed in a lovely motel ( Cherry something? ) It is great to spoil yourself isn't it! All the best to John.
@ludwigsdiana Well the whole experience was good, Diana - the room was tops and the views also. But we didn't sleep that well - I think its too hot for us plus the strain of a hospital visit. The bed was comfortable.
Not the usual NZ architecture so interesting to read a bit of the origin. I have never been as far down as Dunedin so photos of the town are interesting. Glad everything is progressing as it should! We like the Lone Star group of restaurants too, we’ve been in a few up & down the country. The maternity place in Hamilton where Jo had Max used to order the new dad’s meals from the Lone Star.
Great capture of this very interesting clock tower. Sending warm thoughts for John to improve soon. Nice to stay over as a treat and relax. I shot quite a few photos today without my SD card in!!

So glad you had a night of comfort and time to relax after your hospital visit.
