Full Moon by maggiemae

Full Moon

and I practiced so many settings for this shot. Not what I really wanted like what some people post their magnificent moon shots but good to try anyway.
To be thankful for:
Driving inland from here in Port Douglas it was interesting to see the sugar cane growth and processing.
It always good to try, it was very cloudy for me!

Actually the geographic shapes of the windows are the stars of this shot. I really like the pattern their lights make against the moon. Good shot!

Great shapes and light for the windows. You might have made a composite with this and a shot exposed just for the moon

I really like the patterns in the lit windows with the angular edges. As for the moon bit Jane @jgpittenger is the expert.

@jgpittenger I did think of that but wanted to wait till I got the real thing. That moon has to be low in the sky!

@beryl No wolves did howl, no witches did ride, no bats did fly! But it was nice!

Do you have a fully manual option on your camera? Skip Tribby taught me the trick of of setting to 200 ISO, f8 and shutter speed 125th. At those settings, you get clarity if you focus on infinity or close to.

Love all the black and white blocks of light against the darkness with the moon watching over.

Thankyou @casablanca for that! I have looked at settings for the ruddy moon lots but always forget them when I'm holding the camera!

@maggiemae HaHa I would always forget my settings for a full moon, so now I have saved the settings on my iphone in my notes!
Good luck!

@radiogirl By telling everyone around me whether they wanted to know or not, the settings to use - I now remember!

You so lucky to have even seen it. We had overcast skies that night. Make sure you use a tripod and set the timer. It makes a big difference.
