Christmas Book Club meeting. Held at one of our member’s family estate where the original house seen here, was built 100 years ago.
I’m glad there are still places like this where family treasure history and share in the maintenance!
Thankful for:
No-one noticed that I had spilt over half my bread case all over my clothes! It broke in half and all the cream, avocado and prawns got quickly scooped up with several paper handkerchiefs! Stupid shaking hand!
Lovely looking home ... Is it a James Chapman Taylor design Looks a bit similar to some I have seen in Taranaki.. I am sure other dropped food on themselves as well...
David is always throwing his food down himself so I shouldn't worry about it. I am sure nobody noticed.
Once when he was in Germany he was given a bienenstich (bee sting cake) and he reckoned the only safe place to eat it would be naked in the bath. ha ha.
What a marvelous home. I’m sure you were the only one who really noticed the bread breaking. Book clubs are so fun. It’s a very American novel but you might enjoy Susan Orlean’s “The Library Book”.
@happypat The house is not lived in now but all the family members take turns in keeping it clean-ish!
I've got a shaky left hand, Pat and when anxious or stressed its even worse! Food goes flying off!
Not to worry. accidents like that happen all the time. I love the place, glad they take good care of it.
Never ever will we travel over the holidays. there were 8 huge cruise liners in the harbour. all celebrating the American Thanksgiving. over 600 children on our smaller ship. we were told by our cab driver that over 50,000.00 people were being picked up to be taken to the airport. Chaos everywhere. planes were delate. I'm thankful for that as we wouldn't have made it in time to catch out flight home. Yesterday's picture shows the ship we were on.
@golftragic It was actually lunch, Marnie - normally we talk about books then have arvo tea. Today we had a talk by a new member who was kidnapped by guerrillas in Mozambique and was forced to walk for miles over 3 months! This was in the 1970's.

My book club meeting is tomorrow, not outside I'm afraid...
