Looking south by maggiemae

Looking south

A day of warnings, road closures, civil emergencies - but not in our small area. We had hardly any rain while not far up the main road the road was closed due to flooding. It was also closed on the West coast due to slips so we are cut off. Tourists might be worried, but we aren’t. This was the sky seen at our gate after a thunderstorm had raced through.
Thankful for:
planted radishes but hope there will be decent rain -but we do have a hose.
Thanks for sharing. funny how it rains on places nearby and you don't get any rain. It happens here to. Sometimes it is pouring at my home and then no rain at my daughters work place in town. 15 Km apart.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond You are right, Jackie - it changes so often! You have to be a weather expert to interpret. I would love to have been one!

Fav. I particularly like the colour tones in this shot. Gorgeous capture. Fav. I assume that the building on the rocks in my picture of yesterday is either a fisherman's hut (probably built illegally) or a guard room of WWII days.

The sky looks rather ominous.

Lovely shot, our Son is stranded down near Haast, he's biking from Picton to Queenstown but the landslides have altered his plans. Hoping to set off tomorrow to cycle 138 km!

I’ve seem on the NZ farming page the flooding in your area & around Timuru, water does such damage too, our thoughts with all those flooded. We have floods too but you expect it in the winter but not in summer! Thunder & lightening can be frightening!
