Elephant Rocks by maggiemae

Elephant Rocks

Now a tourist destination but on private land inland from Oamaru. Created after fossil-rich limestone deposited millions of years ago eroded, leaving behind an incredible boulder-field which towers above your head!
Today it was perfect to be here - blue skies, no wind and the sun shone warm on your back!
Nice

The name suits the large rocks and show the scale when one looks at the couple down there.

@grammyn These rocks were left over 25 million years ago and I made up of tiny little shells. This area was once under the sea – hard to believe!
