We are off to the south west of Mt Cook overlooking Lake Ohau and in a wonderful old Lodge that has stood the test of time! Not luxury or perfect but the position is unique and is right on the Alps to Ocean Rail Trail.
This is at 9.17pm and the tip of Mt Cook still has the sun.

Wow -- the one time we were there it was shrouded in clouds and within a few hours, all roads were closed! It was a bit of an adventure...we think we might have been the last car allowed down before the shutdown.
Ha ha no bikes…good decision although I do miss your excursions on your electric bike. Looking forward to more photos. Hope you are still allowed to travel around!
@happypat We can travel around but venues are restricted to 100 and all with a vaccine pass and mask. More bikers arriving tonight!

@taffy Most of the time when we have been travelling around here, clouds and no visibility. We actually stayed at Mt Cook recently and it rained the whole time!
