Food for thought...
Actually food for our native birds the tuis - they love the flax flowers.
So many beautiful bays and beaches in this day's drive but the lovely flax flowers caught my attention.

These are only the flowers, Rosan - the flax itself is like any other broad leafed plant that comes out and grows in a fan shape!
