I see the Moon

The best I could do with that very bright full and magical moon!

It was one of the first I took over an hour and I just could not get the camera in the right settings.

There is a recipe for moon shots but I have to get my camera to agree!
Still good try..☺

Quite like this :) As a wide shot it works quite well. If you had exposed the moon correctly most of the other details would be lost as it would be underexposed.

Wow, love this. I tried last night and failed miserably. Well done you!

@fbailey I wanted the outline to be clear and it just wouldn't!

@maggiemae Think there's a definite knack to it. I Googled how to do it, used the suggested settings, set camera to infinity and result was a series of instant deletes!

Clear outline or not -- I love it ! Superb when viewed on black !

@rjb71 Should I use the EV to create a bit of underexposing?

No matter - this ended up pretty cool...

I like this shot. No apologies necessary.

Settings or not, it's still pretty!

This is beautiful! I keep trying the recommended settings to capture the moon, but my pics still never look like theirs.

it looks wonderful . Don't think it would have been a clear moon with that cloud cover.

This is a nice shot ... not a shot that shows the moon detail .. but I like it shows the story of the night...

Were you using a tripod Maggie...

Good shot. Fav.

@julzmaioro Of course, Julia - my hand shakes so I either anchor the camera to a pole, fence post..etc or organise the tripod! I think I need to use the EV function.

This is so lovely. The colours show up well in the clouds.

Awesome shot

Still good though, we can get the sense of size against the houses very nicely!

Thanks Pat! It wasn't as big as some I saw in NZ! Wonder how they do that!

FAV If you increase your ISO you might get a clearer shot of the moon itself but then you would lose the detail of the horizon which adds so much to the composition of this photo! I think this is brilliant as is!

@grammyn I might try that next time - maybe get a compromise, Thanks Katy!
