Cumulonimbus

A type of cloud that brings thunder, lightning and really cold temperatures underneath. As an ex-pilot...and a reluctant 'seafarer, No2" I got to know these clouds as a portent for extreme weather. Not like a cyclone, though. It brought thunder in the middle of the night but no lightning.
Such lovely light you have captured even though it is a warning sign.

Amazing clouds there.....the land of the long white cloud has other shapes too! Cathy & Garth are staying in a little house at Lake Tekapo making their way to Queenstown good weather so far for them!

Very impressive cu-nim clouds MM. We had a bunch of them and their mates in action her yesterday, quite spectacular at times.

Wow! Yes, those are nasty looking clouds. Strange how some of Mother Nature's most picturesque settings also present so much danger.
