Off our deck using the rail to put my elbows on to get close to the hanging geranium basket. Then went out front of our house with the tripod but liked this one best. Good question - thanks!
One thing you may also want to try is when using the tripod to turn off your Image Stabilization (IS) on your lens (that is if it has an IS function) and use your remote trigger. The IS does impact the clarity and overall image quality, so turning it off may have a bit of a different result for ya. Also, using the remote trigger removes any movement no matter how minor. Just some more stuff to play with. Keep.having fun with it and learning even more.
