@mandygravil

You have the perfect backdrop for them in your kitchen I think.

Brought back lovely memories of childhood. My Nanna used to pickle onions and they were delicious. Mum had a grocery shop and sometimes sold the jars of onions in the shop for Nanna. Customers used to collect jars and orders were put in for Nanna's special onions.

Ooooh lovely

I've never had them, and I don't know if I'd be able to since onions and my stomach don't always see eye to eye. But they sure look good in this photo!!

How nice. Are these gifts or just special treats for the holidays? They do look good in the warm light against the granite.

that is an achievement, well done

Lovely colour tones.
Well done for all this hard work, not very pleasant peeling onions, but I am sure they will be worth it.

I agree with Claude, nice color tones.

@onewing So glad it brought back lovely memories. I loved your detail and the idea of people leaving their jars for filling.
@seattlite Thank you Gloria.
@paul10 Ha ha - she is just like my sister then!
@fbailey Thank you. 😀
@peadar Thank you Peter.
@chrisiow Thanks Chris and for the fav.
@denise59 Thanks Dee
@olivetreeann Thank you ann, perhaps not as the vinegar adds to the acidity. Have you tried onions soaked and rinsed in either milk or water, I believe it removes much of the acidity but then perhaps not worth risking.
@randystreat Thank you Kathy - both. I will give one large jar to my sis and the smaller one to a friend and share the other with friends when they come around.
@kali66 Thank you. Much appreciated.
@claudiet Thank you Claude. I have to admit hubby did 2/3 and I finished off. Blanching them first for 2 minutes made the job a whole lot easier.
@joev Thank you Joe.

Ooo lovely - I can't have Christmas without pickled onions, cheese and crusty bread. I've never made my own, i wouldn't have the patience to peel them.

Yummy, they are making my mouth water thinking about them! 😁

@mrsbluesky We love them, - blanched for 2 minutes - easy peeling - over in a few minutes and no tears.
@bigmxx Ha ha - looking forward to them hopefully on Boxing Day.
