Love your quote from 'The Stand'... when the guys in Colorado hypnotise the slow guy to go to Las Vegas and come back when the moon is full... he says it just like that: "M-O-O-N that spells moon." to remind himself when to come home. And he makes it too!
sometimes I am just amazed and in awe of how lovely the moon is, that we can see so much detail. seems so close.
