Maine Maple Sunday by mandyj92

Maine Maple Sunday

We took the niece and nephew to Breakneck Ridge Farm today for Maine Maple Sunday in Blanchard. I was so bummed that they were not boiling sap today. After all it's what today was all about, making maple syrup! They had lots of it for sale, $54 a gallon. Free treats too, buffalo jerky, ice cream topped with maple syrup, whoopie pies with maple frosting filling and warm sap tea. They also raise buffalo at this particular farm so the kids did get to see them. I was happy to hear that the kids enjoyed it. They have a few photos of the buffalo on their web site if you want to peek. I didn't manage to get any of them today.

Great collage and you have a little snow there too. Where I was they stopped producing last week as they were only getting 1/2 of a percent of sugar content now. They were boiling just for demonstration purposes.
