Mattel Hell

When I was a kid, I loved to play with little Mattel Matchbox cars by sending them down their orange tracks, but it turns out the real fun is dousing them with butane and photographing their fiery demises. My husband handled the pyrotechnics, and I just clicked the shutter. (Let's be careful out there, people!)

I set up this photo for an "orange and blue" macro challenge (on Flickr). For that challenge, I'll need to feature a photo with a tighter crop, but I couldn't bear to crop out these flames here.
Great shot and you did well with the fire.

Sounds a little dangerous but it did make for a very cool shot and very creative.

It's interesting to see the shape of the fire up close and still like this. Love this shot

@alyssakmac Thanks! I took a series of pictures with a continuous shutter setting, and I was fascinated to see the different shapes of the fire.

@mittens Yes, I was a little scared, but it was a two-person job in a wide open space (my driveway). I did love photographing the fire, and seeing all the different shapes it made. Thanks for your comment :)
