Bella enjoying today's new snow. I sometimes struggle with the blue grey tint of the snow in my pics. Any suggestions?
Awww, she is gorgeous!!

It doesn't look obviously blu grey to me but maybe with editing increase the exposure slightly....wonderful shot.

The blue thing happens when the camera misinterprets shade on snow as blue. Play with the white balance setting on your camera in order to tell it what white looks like. My dad carries test cards of grey and white to set white balance and I've only recently worked out why! Pick a bit of snow in the sun and adjust the white balance until it looks right to you and make a note of the setting.

Bella has obviously had a lot of fun in the snow! Sometimes I could wish I was a dog!!

Hi Marcy - thanks for asking for suggestions about the colours. So many people have so much knowledge - it's really nice that they take the time to share their ideas. Thanks for the hints Kathryn and Casablanca.

@bristolrose thanks! I have been working more on hand edits in camera raw.

@casablanca thanks for the advice. I want to get better at setting WB for the taking of the pics instead of relying on post edit so much! I even have a white/ grey card. My weekend project

Black dogs are notoriously difficult to photograph anyway and when you add white snow in as well that just makes it even harder, so I think you've done a fantastic job of the exposure here - and obviously it helps when you have such a beautiful subject.
