Church banner

I made it several years ago from items donated by members. So many precious things in there - wedding dresses, baby items, even a special sock.
So meaningful. I intended to make a quilt of my children's clothes, but I lacked the skill.

@eudora one of our members had very premature twins who did not survive. The cross in the middle is sculpted from the lambswool pad she donated, from the hospital isolette. When she first brought it in, I wondered how the heck I could use it appropriately and then it came to me in a flash of inspiration during worship one Sunday. These things have a way of working themselves out. You should give it a go. Even simple squares stitched together from your kids clothes would be special.

@margonaut Beautiful way to remember the twins. I might try that.
One of my neighbors encouraged her mother to keep doing piecework even after Big Mama was blind. She stitched squares together by touch, making doll blankets for her great grandchildren and lap throws. We treasured them--such a symbol of resilience.
