Tower of knowledge

I should call it my tower of pleasure reads actually, largely because this stack is downtime reading material. We all love reading and I have several of these stacks throughout the house, some up to 10ft high. Its a good job the kids are not little anymore.
I hope the stack stayed upright. You can never have enough books. I thought of doing a book photo, but we have got so many, where do I start! Nice shot. Love the b&w

A lover of reading! I used to have piles of books in my house that were ankle high, then knee high, and eventually thigh high, but after that, I had to start new piles. Each pile had a personality, and the top book was critically important in identifying that stack's contents. The rule at our house was that nobody was to change someone else's pile's top book because they were like map markers!

@onewing Thanks Babs. I agree! I can never throw books out. It really pains me to have to clean out old books but sometimes you run out of space. We have stacks of books in every room in the house. It's mad, but there you have it....

I love the POV you have taken this from. It is scary though, it looks like it could topple at any time.

@jyokota yes, you are obviously a kindred spirit. I know what you mean about pile personality, this is my lounge room pile of biographies, political and social commentary, but others include , the travel piles, the cooking and food piles, the bedside table stack is currently is short stories and essays and the study is full of work related piles of both books, journals and photocopied articles.... They're everywhere. I need a library!

@pachelbel It is rather. In fact it was quite funny Veronica! I was lying down next to it trying to take a photo with the cat trying to snuggle in my armpit. Quite hard to keep the camera steady.

When I was a little girl all the dream houses I sketched were centered around a multi-story library.....my reality is piles just like that. Love the pov and the b&w!

@jewel_of_denial Thank you Julie! As you can see this is my reality too! I dream about a library! One day.....

Love the POV! That is quite a stack!

@pflaume Thank you Lisa! This is actually one of my better supported stacks, so it's reasonably safe! I wouldn't be lying underneath it otherwise.

@foxsparrow Thanks Ann. I am listening to birds singing as I type this note and it makes me think of your wonderful bird images. They never get close enough though. Occasionally I get the odd kookaburra on the fence but the cats usually frighten them away before I can manage to get the camera out.

I call mine Mt Toberead. It doesn't matter how quickly I read the mountain never gets any smaller asI keep buying more books.
Great shot - I hope they didn't topple over while you were underneath taking pictures.

Hi Marie, just thought I would tell you that you don't put # in front of your tags, your book photos are not showing up in the theme so you need to edit them.

Oh yes....books! Never can have too many. I enjoy my Kindle for certain situations (mostly traveling) but would be completely lost with having books around me. Great shot.
